Classroom Management

I am committed to constructing an environment within my classroom where all my students feel comfortable to participate, collaborate, and build their own knowledge. I feel that one of the major components to ensuring such an environment is discipline. I want to instill in my students the habits of successful students this includes teaching them appropriate learning behaviors. I plan to invest time in the beginning of the school year to inform my students of the high standards of discipline that I expect from them and that they should strive for in order to achieve academic success.

I believe that if I empower my students to become disciplined students, it will allow for a strong and effective management of the classroom. I plan to manage my students by constantly inspiring them and engaging them through positive culturally relevant work.

  • All school rules will be strictly enforced in this class.  Refer to you student handbook for details.  Apart from those rules you must also respect the following:

  1. We will arrive on time and will be ready to learn as soon as the bell rings.

  2. We will respect our classmates and the teacher.

  3. We will be respectful of the Spanish language and the cultures we study.

If you fail to follow these simple rules the following discipline policy will

   take effect:

       First Offense:         Warning

Second Offense:   Participation point(s) will be taken away

Third Offense:       Phone call home and disciplinary referral
